What to expect for portraits

We wanted to make this whole process as simple and effective as possible, so we thought we'd lay out what you can expect to happen once you decide to commission us for your portrait experience.

Introductions

Once you decide to move forward with the portrait session, you will arrange a meeting with Jared to discuss the project. This is a really informal meeting, usually happening at a Starbucks near you, where you decide such things as: goal of the session, theme, wardrobe ideas, what you'd like to leave the experience with, and other such specifics that will shape our recommendation for the time, place and length of your shoot. This is also when you will schedule your actual photo shoot date.

About a week before your session you should receive a reminder call just to ensure that everything is on-track.

Just Shoot Me!

Finally your portrait session date and time will arrive, and everything will flow beautifully because of all the pre-planning and follow through you and we put into the session. Cameras will click, lights will flash, on-lookers will say "ooohh" and "aaahh", birds will chirp, flags will wave, trumpets.... well, you get the idea.

Now while we can't promise all of that will happen, we can assure you that you will have fun! We're also pretty sure that we can make even the most uncomfortable person feel completely relaxed in front of the lens. Portrait sessions are so much fun. If you've never had fun taking pictures, you've got to try this!

Hey! I'm On TV!

Maybe not TV, but is the internet close enough? About two weeks after your session you will receive an e-mail with a link to preview your session photos (about 20 images per 1 hour of session, usually more) in your own on-line gallery. All of your photos will have some retouching done, and a few will have advanced Photoshop creative/artistic work to give you an idea of where we can go with your images.

Choices, Choices

Once you've had about a week or so to go over your images and kind of plug them into the plan we went over at our very first meeting, you'll meet with Jared to finalize everything and get the prints, frames, canvases, etc. ordered. This will also be the time you give final thoughts on the retouching and artistic overlays for your images.

Jared will give you a ballpark guess on the additional retouching timeframe and the order date. From here it's not long 'til...

D-Day

..as in Delivery Day. Unlike having your first baby, there is absolutely no apprehension as we approach this date. No bone-crushing hand-holds on your husband, or screaming... unless it's happy-screams when you see the beautiful images you and we have made finally hanging in your home, just as you imagined way back when we first met! And our printing is 100% saitisfaction guaranteed. Not happy? Don't pay.
